United Group finalizes acquisition of Bulsatcom
United Group, the leading provider of telecommunications and media services in Southeast Europe, has successfully completed the acquisition of Bulsatcom - a provider of satellite TV and Internet for households and businesses in Bulgaria.
The acquisition is part of United Group's long-term strategy to expand and strengthen market presence in the region and drive future innovation in a digital and connected society, the company said in a release. Victoriya Boklag, CEO of United Group, commented: "We are delighted to have finalized the acquisition of Bulsatcom. This step will allow us to drive further growth in this important market and enable acceleration of innovation in the region. This acquisition complements our portfolio and there are clear benefits for current and future customers in Bulgaria." Nikolay Andreev, CEO of Vivacom and Bulsatcom, added: "The successful completion of the acquisition of Bulsatcom is good news for consumers in the highly fragmented market in this sector in Bulgaria. This will enable us to significantly improve the quality of their television service for we will offer more HD channels and access to over 30,000 titles in the video library of EON - the leading TV platform in South East Europe. We will also significantly increase the quality of their Internet service offering." United Group entered the Bulgarian market in 2020 with the acquisition of Vivacom. Since then, the group has taken a number of significant steps to strengthen its presence and drive innovation in the market. Among United Group's achievements are the development of the largest 5G network in the country and the launch of the first 10GIGA optical network. United Group provided Bulgarian consumers with the first 5G unlimited tariff plans and access to the EON TV platform, winner of multiple awards. RELATED
