POLANDVectra bolsters VOD library with the addition of BBC Player
In a significant expansion of its entertainment offerings, Polish telecommunications operator Vectra has announced the integration of BBC Player into its VOD service. The move provides subscribers with direct access to a vast library of acclaimed British television, featuring everything from gripping crime dramas and beloved comedies to world-renowned nature documentaries.
Effective immediately, the BBC Player service is available at no extra cost to Vectra subscribers on the Platynowy, Super Film & Sport, or Max packages. The platform boasts a curated collection of over 1000 hours of content, tailored to a wide range of viewer interests. "We are thrilled that BBC Player is joining our offer," said Krzysztof Sokolik, Chief Marketing Officer and Member of the Board of Vectra S.A. "These are true British classics, passionate documentaries, and gripping crime stories – narratives that fascinate audiences. We want our customers to be able to discover them all and enjoy the best British entertainment in one place." Both existing and new Vectra customers who are subscribed to, or choose, one of the qualifying packages will receive complimentary access to BBC Player. Starting in November, they can stream the best of British production on their television (via a set-top box), using the TV Smart GO app, or on the tvsmart.vectra.pl website within a dedicated "BBC Player. Najlepsze brytyjskie produkcje" ("BBC Player. The Best British Productions") catalog in the "Free" section. The packages are: Platynowy (171 channels) at 69.99 PLN/month; Super Film & Sport (193 channels) at 109.99 PLN/month; and Max (108 channels of internet TV with a decoder) at 44.99 PLN/month. The Platynowy and Super Film & Sport packages require a 23-month commitment but offer the first three months free. The Max package is available with an 11-month commitment or a no-commitment option. All packages include the TV Smart 4K Box decoder. "Partnerships with companies like Vectra are of strategic importance to us. Thanks to them, we can consistently develop the availability of BBC content in Poland and reach an ever-wider audience," said Bartosz Witak, General Manager & SVP BBC Studios CEE & MENAT. "We are pleased that our cooperation with Vectra has a solid foundation for the next several years." The partnership also includes the addition of the CBeebies channel to Vectra's Multimedia offer from the Maxbox package starting November 5th, as well as increased availability of the BBC First channel for other Vectra subscribers. BBC Player is the latest addition to Vectra's growing portfolio of streaming services, which recently expanded to include Disney+ and an enhanced package on HBO Max. Vectra customers also have access to other popular platforms like Netflix, Canal+, Eleven Sports, and Filmbox+. RELATED
