Duo Media Networks has officially rebranded its entertainment television portfolio in Estonia to offer better content to its audience. Under the new strategy, the channels formerly known as Duo 3 and Duo 6 have been renamed to Duo Crime and Duo Comedy. They will join the channels Duo Drama and Duo Star, which previously went thru a similar name change in August, to create a cohesive family under the common motto: 'A Duo for every mood!'.

“As the number of themed channels grows, it becomes more important for viewers to find the content they want easily. A number on its own doesn’t say much, but Crime, Comedy, Drama and Star immediately give viewers an idea of what to expect. The idea is simple: tune in and find the kind of content the channel promises,” said Jüri Pihel, Chairman of the Management Board of Duo Media Networks.

In addition to the major name updates, all 4 channels have received a completely refreshed visual design to complete the corporate rebranding strategy.

The new channel schedules will feature popular international titles, classic hits and premium live sports broadcasts on the thematic channels.

Duo Crime brings together familiar crime series and newer international hits. Its schedule includes the classic crime series Monk and the multiple Emmy Award-winning Homeland. Later this year, viewers can also catch MobLand, released last year and starring Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Academy Award winner Helen Mirren. The channel will also premiere Rex: Vienna Calling, bringing the much-loved Inspector Rex back to screens after several years.

Duo Comedy offers a mix of classic sitcoms and newer series. Its daily line-up includes the enduring favourites Friends, The Office and Two and a Half Men. More recent additions include Motherland and Shifting Gears, which stars acclaimed actor Tim Allen. Later this year, the channel will also bring back the British cult comedy Absolutely Fabulous and premiere the hospital comedy St. Denis Medical.

Duo Drama features drama series, romantic films, true crime and lifestyle programming. Viewers’ favourite Home and Away will take its winter break in December, with a fresh selection of Hallmark Christmas films taking its place over the festive season. The channel’s Special Series Club will also continue on weekday evenings, showcasing acclaimed international series.

Duo Star brings together Hollywood blockbusters, fast-paced action and adventure series, and major sporting events. In early December, viewers in Estonia will be able to watch live coverage of the World Swimming Championships in Beijing, where Estonia’s team will compete alongside the world’s best.
